Electrical Design Engineer/Snr

Abercorn Sinclair is delighted to partner with Stanelco RF Technologies as they seek to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer.

The company:

Based in Marchwood, Southampton, Stanelco RF Technologies (“Stanelco”) is a division of Biome Technologies plc.

Stanelco’s small, multidisciplinary team specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke engineering solutions for a wide range of industries that utilise induction heating and dielectric welding systems.

With a focus on high-frequency RF technologies, projects typically range from £50k to £500k and include RF heating systems, control systems, and mechanical handling solutions. Delivery timelines vary from 3 to 12 months, covering the full process from project acquisition through to commissioning.

The Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Director (CD) the successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, delivering a broad range of technical solutions to their industrial customers.

Candidate Profile:

Given the nature and size of the business, this role offers flexibility to be tailored to the specific skills and experience of the right candidate. We welcome applications from qualified “early-career” Electrical Design Engineers who can demonstrate the drive, passion, and potential to grow into a strong and effective snr/lead engineer.

The ideal candidate will be educated to HND/Degree level in electrical engineering, with several years of demonstrable experience in the development of industrial process equipment. You will be a natural problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic engineering environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Play an instrumental role in all aspects of the design, development, manufacture, and support of industrial equipment used in production and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical expertise across multiple engineering disciplines, with a focus on electrical engineering, RF, and process engineering.
  • Drive innovation by troubleshooting existing products, optimising designs, and identifying opportunities for new product lines.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s electro-mechanical product range to assist in technical discussions with customers and stakeholders.
  • Support new business proposals at quotation and negotiation stages.
  • Participate in commissioning and troubleshooting processes for new equipment.

Key technical skills and experience:

  • Power conversion systems, industrial automation, thermal management systems, materials science, electronic control systems and industrial software.
  • Electrical systems engineering (e.g., transformers, switches, converters, SMPS).

Additional skills and experience:

  • Control panel design (PLC, HMI, SCADA)
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic system design (pick and place).
  • Familiarity with RF technology applications in industries such as induction heating, or dielectric welding would be advantageous but not essential.

The opportunity:

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in a highly specialised engineering company with a global reach. The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Director and other members of the engineering team to shape the technical direction of the company, ensure project delivery excellence, and expand Stanelco’s presence in emerging sectors.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits package.
